Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions parents ask most.

A mother and son working together at home
Which year groups is it for?

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Where a child would benefit from firming up the basics first, our foundation worksheets – built on Year 1 and Year 2 skills and coming soon – rebuild that knowledge step by step.

How long does it take?

The free taster takes about ten minutes. The full diagnostic is two or three sittings of about fifteen minutes, with progress saved between them.

Will my child be told they are behind?

No. The profile describes how your child thinks, strengths first. There is no percentage and no grade.

Is it preparation for SATs?

No. It is about mathematical thinking – the skills of using mathematics in real situations. Those skills help with every test, but tests are not the goal.

Will it help with the 11+?

It is not 11+ preparation. The 11+ rewards children who can reason through unfamiliar problems, and that is exactly what our profile looks at – so it shows where your child is secure and where to build before any preparation begins.

Does my child need to be on a screen for the practice?

Only for the assessment. Practice packs are printed and completed on paper.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once for the diagnostic and buy only the packs you choose.

What does re-assessment cost?

Nothing. Re-running a topic is included in the £39.

What data do you keep about my child?

First name and year group only, stored in the United Kingdom.
